Updates, Thoughts & General Information
Well, its the first Wednesday after the weekend event and the house is still full of props, costume and dohickys!
Worth it though. Fantastic event and we now have most of the events for next year ready to be posted!
The highlights included player involvement in the politics, some utterly brutal fights, grand use of props and costumes, not to mention the unending enthusiasm of the crew!
We have a month of at the end of the year now, but we are back with a bang in October and the first event is March next year.
Thanks for a fantastic set of events and I will see you on the flipside!
Well my fine fellows, how do I find you today?
I am in fine fettle, spent the day making props, writing plot and organising for 2018.
Oh what things we have for you my darlings! What things!
Its just over a week to the event now and things are in overdrive! We are building stuff, creating things, getting NPC's in place! We would still LOVE more crew, so if you are free that weekend, come down and have a go!
October brings us back to our regular day events and I am looking forward to sprinting around the woods with you all!
Then... onwards to 2018. Becaues of the nature of the hobby we are getting all the weekend events etc. up now so you can get your calendars sorted, but we have hit a bit of a snag, namley Convergance 2018. Now we thought we had that one nailed down but unfortunatly Caddihoe had double booked us, We are currently looking at Huntley Wood, a bit more expencive, but an amazing site, if you have an opinion we have put up a poll, which you can find here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1687947348173805/permalink/1734423893526150/" target="_blank">https://www.facebook.com/events/1687947348173805/permalink/1734423893526150/
Lastly, keep an eye on the events etc. because unfortunatly it was decided at the EGM to put up our prices up in line with some increased site costs etc.
Membership stays at £25
Membership and three events has stayed at £150
However, weekend events are as follows:
Event Non-member: £70
Event member: 60
Discounts: £10 for: First weekender/bringing a new person (if you are a member)/unemployed.
Additional £5 in the 30 days before the event, or £10 on the Gate.
£15 for Non-members
£10 for Members
See you soon folks!
Its the middle of the week and its time for the update.
- So, we have a day event coming up on Saturday. We could still do with a few more crew if anyone is about. Its going to be an event about finding smugglers and collecting information, more crew would be helpful.
- We have the September weekend event coming up! Again, more crew would be grand, because its going to be both heavy politics, and heavy combat.
- The EGM, we are calling a meeting to discuss how we will be charging for events etc. The club is doing alright, but with rising costs of sites and other running costs, we may have to look at putting the prices up a bit. By the end of the day, a formal email should be on its way to you with a structure of what we are discussing and giving you the chance to contribute if you are a member who can't attend.
- I have been planning an overhaul of the website, it is not giving us the fresh face that the club needs at the moment. If you have any suggestions etc. then please let me know!
I hope your having a great week people, I am having a fab time planning and plot writing especially after the last weekend event!
So, here is this weeks brain teaser, if you were to have one sentance to describe the club for a feedback page: what would it be?
See you soon folks!
Good Afternoon Dear Readers!
So, it is time for our weekly round up.
First off, I have said it a few times, but its worth saying again! Wow what a weekend! A dark survival event in the shadows of Fort Widley. Over half the characters who went into the tunnels were killed, all the people who attended had an amazing time scaring themselves silly.
It has set the bar VERY high and I am very much looking forward to the next one!
The next day event is looking well attended, though we could always use more people. A romp through Avalon on a secret mission to discover who is behind smuggling black powder to anarchists.
Then we have the next weekend in September. It is begining to shape up nicely, though we could do with more crew! CREW!! They make the event and they are a lot of fun to be!
I'll see you all in a field very soon!
Gideon and the Ref Team
Are you ready??
Less than three days to the Fort Widley event!
We have an amazing crew team ready to bring the world to life for you. Costume is getting last minute build, props are being packed... character sheets are getting panic updated!
While all that is happening the August Exeter day event is looming closer, so we are all hands to get that sorted (and the EGM!!)
Then we have the September event! Last event of the year! Its gonna be grand! We are excited by the amazing player uptake and could always do with more crew!
Also, next year.... the events are going up soon!
....Now... back to building monsters! See you soon people!
With less than a week to the event things have been a bit crazy so I appolagise that this is rather late.
The Fort Widley event is looming, we are in full "build" mode. Props and plot flying out. to a crew who are ready to rock and roll.
We have been blessed with a fine selection of players, especially with some really interesting characters.
(There is still room for both players and characters if you want to come down and it promises to be a great one)
A reminder that the next Exeter day event is going to have an EGM after it. This is important as it is regarding the prices that the club charges. Thats in adition to a bally good day of sword fighting shenanegans.
...Then... the September event is upon us! We have a few more crew, but we could do with more SO MANY MORE!! With the collapse of a Kingdom in Fairy there are all sorts of groups vying and the players will have to deal with it!
If you are planning to come to any of the events above (as player or crew) and I don't know yet, please let me know asap!
See you at the Fort people!
Hey wonderful folk,
Its time for the midweek update, and boy is it a doozey!
We have the day event coming up on Saturday, and we are going off to Crusade, to deal with some consequences for peoples actions. We had a great group of crew and I am really looking forward to it!
In a few weeks we are off to Fort Widley, and we have a doozey of an event lined up. Into the depths of melnisia, there will be doom laden upon the unwary in the dark!
Then, September, and we are back at Caddihoe! Looks like we have a LOT of dwarfes. However, I could always do with some more crew, so, if you fancy joining us in a war-torn corner of Gate to create all the glories and wonders of that strange world: let me know asap!
Thank you all for being part of this, and for those I am going to: see you saturday. For the rest: I'll see you at Fort Widley.... down down deep in the dark....
So my fine buckaroos,
We have a number of exciting things coming up.
1 - The Exeter day event! Off to crusade, for... you know... missing people! Still trying to get folk to confirm playing or crewing, so if you are coming could you do that ASAP! Thank you!
2 - The August event is coming up, with lots of things in the pipeline its almost time to delve into the darkness of Melnisia to see what trouble varios slaves have got into facing down the house that they served...
3 - The September weekender is coming up quickly on its heals, so I am looking forward to heading back to the Gate, for one last attempt to bring some kind of calmness to the swirling mire that was once King Ruperts Kingdom and is now a broken vestige of surviving duchies. The King is dead... long live the....?
While we are all looking forward to the events, I have a question, when your looking at kit for your characters, in what order do you consider things?
For me, its:
Costume and props flesh out the character, weapons can always be borrowed from the club.
What are your thoughts?
For a start, let me apolagise. I have missed the last one and this one is late.
Things have been a tad crazy.
First of all: Looking at the Exeter day event this year: we could do with some more players and crew. If you want to come, but haven't signed up yet, please do so asap.
Secondly, our next weekend event is August, and then we have an event in September.
If you haven't booked yet: now is your time.Get yourself signed up!
I hope your all caught up with the "current events" at the head of each world in the forums and if not, I would go look as soon as possible.
See you all soon folks!
A quick update on a few things, first of all: thank you to everyone that attended the last day event! Despite the heat it was excellent.
Speaking of which, don't forget that the July event has been moved to accomadate a few things, I hope you can make it down nonetheless!
We have started a new idea of updating the worlds on the forums as things occur so that players can hear rumours etc.I hope you enjoy it!
So, the next big weekend is August, we have some fun things in mind, down in the depths of Fort Widley we are going to make a Melnisian holding for you to explore.
Sann are the smallest contingent of players, anyone thought of playing one?
See you soon folks and I hope you have a great week!
